This month, we’re so excited to celebrate Sofia as our Chasing Oso Athlete of the Month!
At just nine years old, Sofia has already achieved some seriously impressive things in sport. Earlier this year, she competed at the Australian BMX National Championships, where she finished an incredible 10th in Australia and qualified to represent Australia at the UCI BMX World Championships.
Taking on some of the best young BMX riders in the world, Sofia went on to finish 19th in the 8-year-old girls category at the UCI BMX World Championships. An amazing achievement and an experience we’re sure she’ll remember for a very long time!
But Sofia hasn’t slowed down since.
She has continued putting in the work across multiple sports, recently finishing 3rd at the QLD State Cross Country Championships in the 1000m and taking home 1st place in the 9-year-old girls 1200m Relay.
Now, she’s back on the bike and training hard for her next challenge, the QLD State BMX Titles in Gladstone.
What we love most about Sofia’s story isn’t just the medals, placings or results. It’s the dedication behind them. At such a young age, she is already showing what can happen when you work hard, challenge yourself and keep chasing the things you love.
We are so proud to have athletes like Sofia as part of the Chasing Oso community, and we can’t wait to see where her determination takes her next.
Congratulations Sofia, our Athlete of the Month!
Our reminder from Sofia’s journey:
“Dream big, work hard and never be afraid to see how far you can go.”
